THE EDUCATION PROGRAMME OF CIECOBON

The education programme of the Institute is under the Academic Board of Studies (ABC), the programmes covers the whole business involved in Export and Commodity brokerage, which it activities involved Started from the drawing board to prompt delivery, payment made in cash and through the bank with After Sales Services.

The Syllabus also covers the activities on Cargo Warehousing, Shipment the ship Commodity export location, Commodity brokerage, Commodity exchange etc.

All these reflected in the Institute Programme to give adequate knowledge regained to produce a qualify EXPORT PRACTITIONERS OR COMMODITYBROKERS.

The Institute divided entry into the training and examinations into three:-

  • Registration as a Student
  • Registration as a Licentiate Members
  • Registration as a Graduate Member.

REGISTRATION AS A STUDENT 

Persons wishing to sit for the Institute Examination must first apply to the Registrar to become a registered student of the Institute.  The official Registration form should be completed and returned to the Institute with copies of educational or Professional qualification held.  When the application has been approved, the student is notified and asked to remit his first annual registration and subscription fees to the Institute; Students are advised to register well ahead before beginning a course of study either with the Institute or at any Registered Training Centre (RTC).  The Education and Training Board and Membership Committee of the Institute will ensure to see that.

  1. He/She that is applying for registration is at least up to 21 years of age and possess minimum of five credits in WASC/GCE, NECO, SSCE, NABTEB.
  2. Candidates that are 35 years of age and above whilst lacking formal academic qualifications and had a minimum of ten years practical experience in International Trade, Shipping, Freight Forwarding Operations, Petroleum distribution may be accepted at the discretion of the Membership Committee/Education and Training Board.
  3. Other candidates that are not employed in any Organization related to Export are required to make a change during the course of study before the Final Examination for the award of Final Diploma in Export Practice and Commodity Management.

Student would register and begin his/her Career Training in Foundation level Examination or training before proceeding to Professional levels I-III.

REGISTRATION AS A LICENTIATE MEMBER

  1. The Institute elects holders of Professional Certificate in Export Practice and Commodity Brokerage to its Licentiate Membership.
  2. Licentiate Membership is also offer to Senior Citizens who is fairly educated without any qualifications but with practical working experience in Agro-Allied, Solid Mineral, Export Services Provision etc could be honoued for their contributions to Commodity Export.
  3. Holders of Advanced Diploma or equivalent that are less than eight semesters will be registered as Licentiate Members.
  4. All Inexperienced intending members who have not participate in Institute Graduate qualification in:
  • International Trade and Shipping Management.
  • Business Finance and Foreign Exchange would be registered as Licentiate Members until such Certificate or practical work evidence is provided.
  1. Such Members are authorized to use the initial LECB after their names.

All Licentiate Member would start their Career with the Institute from professional level one and complete it at level three for the award of final Diploma in Export practice and commodity Management.

REGISTRATION AS A GRADUATE MEMBER

The Graduate Membership is open to all graduates from Polytechnics and Universities who wish to take career in Export Practice or Commodity Brokerage such person would be registered as a graduate members of the Institute and on completion of the Advanced Diploma in either:-

  • International Trade and Shipping Management.
  • Business finance and Foreign Exchange Administration.

He/she would be up-grated to ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP and be Certified as Export Professional or recommend to Commodity Brokers Association of Nigeria For operational License to Operate as Commodity Broker at Abuja Commodity Exchange (CBAN)

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENT

  1. Punctual and regular attendance at lectures, tutorials and seminar classes is compulsory.
  2. A student who has a genuine reasons to be absent from class must obtain permission from course Coordinator or Supervisor.
  3. Handsets must be switched off during lectures, tutorials, seminars, examinations or practical classes.
  4. Student must attend to all assignment, Group work, Case study and practical/fieldwork without any complaining and submit their report as at when due.
  5. Students are to pay their fees as stipulated to avoid any embarrassment.
